Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 battery capacity and launch timeframe leak

Xiaomi’s Mix Flip 2 is coming this year, and according to a new rumor out of China, it will boast a 5,100 mAh battery. That’s larger than its predecessor’s 4,780 mAh cell, but smaller than the previously rumored 5,600 mAh to 5,700 mAh capacity. Perhaps it just wasn’t possible to cram that much battery into such a small folding device.

The Mix Flip 2 is now said to be launching in the second quarter of the year, so between April and June. Previous rumors only talked about it arriving in the first half of the year, so now we get a narrower window to look forward to.

The Mix Flip 2 will allegedly have an IPX8 rating for water resistance, support for 50W wireless charging, an improved crease, many customizations aimed at women, and a bunch of interesting colorways. It will most likely be the first flip-style foldable smartphone to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset at the helm.

We’ve previously also heard that it would be thinner than the original Mix Flip, and would flip (excuse the pun) the telephoto camera of that model for a 50 MP ultrawide, while sticking with a dual camera setup.
